The Denver Broncos will play the New England Patriots on Sunday in the most important game of the year for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are 8-5 and currently hold the final spot in the AFC West Wild Card race. If they lose to the 11-2 Patriots this weekend at Mile High, they face an uphill battle trying to keep that wild card spot with their final two game coming against the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders. They play the Chiefs at Arrowhead on Christmas Day, which will not be an easy game.
Tom Brady and company easily beat the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, and have been very good even without their star tight end Rob “Robert” Gronkowski who is on injured reserve with a back injury. Martellus Bennett has been great in his absence, and I’d look for Julian Edleman and Chris Hogan to try and take advantage of the Broncos depleted line backing corps.
Brandon Marshall is out with a hamstring, and Todd Davis, the run stuffer is questionable. It will be up to Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Shane Ray to provide pressure on the QB, and the No Fly Zone to limit the passing attack. Chirs Harris and Aqib Talib have locked receivers down all year, and I expect the same Sunday. The key besides a pass rush is stopping LeGarrette Blount, especially in the Red Zone.
